The company said net revenue stood at R$18.5bn, while consolidated EBITDA was R$1,012.8m, an increase of 72.3% compared to the second quarter of 2011. It added its EBITDA margin was 5.5%.
JBS Mercosul was the star performer of the business with net revenue of R$4,317.7m, up 19.4% compared with last year. EBITDA increased 47.3% over the same period and was R$630.3m with an EBITDA margin of 14.6%.
Its US poultry subsidary, JBS USA Chicken (Pilgrim’s Pride Corporation – “PPC”), posted net revenue of US$2.0bn and EBITDA of US$125.7m in the same period, reversing its negative position from last year.
For the first half of the year, the company reported its total net revenue stood at R$34.5bn, 17.7% up on last year, while consolidated EBITDA was R$1,709.3m, 20.1% above last year. EBITDA margin of the semester was 5.0%.
