Two appointments to a UK levy body are aimed at increasing export opportunities for English processors.

Christine Walsh and Jonathan Eckley have joined the team at Eblex to help strengthen the focus on export for the levy body.

Walsh, who is joining from Eblex’s sister operation MLCSL, takes on the role of supply chain development manager and will look at opportunities for the export of beef and lamb, including fifth-quarter products.

She said: “I’m looking forward to working closely with the supply chain and helping abattoirs improve income by reducing waste.”

Eckley, currently south-east regional manager for the red meat levy board, will be joining the export team, and will manage the trade development programme in selected markets, the delivery of marketing publications, as well as the maintenance of databases of importers and market research.
