The number of participating nations in this year’s World Steak Challenge has increased by 60% since the inaugural event kick-off at London’s Hyde Park in September 2015.

World Steak Challenge now has 14 nations across four continents lining up with sirloin steak producers far and wide determined to land the coveted status of World’s Best Steak Producer.

Argentina, Brazil, Finland, Paraguay, Poland and Spain are the new nations to take part in the second annual World Steak Challenge. They join Australia, Germany, Ireland, Japan, New Zealand, England, United States and Uruguay, all of whom will be returning to London’s Hyde Park on Thursday 22nd September for live judging.

The 60% rise in nations taking place only goes to show World Steak Challenge’s burgeoning reputation as the foremast player to create a benchmark for high quality steak worldwide.

Interest in this unique event is really taking off, as competing countries square off against each other to claim the ultimate international accolade for steak, and the promotional benefits that go with that,” said Rod Addy, editor of GlobalMeatNews, the brand behind the awards, which are produced by William Reed, organiser of The World’s 50 Best Restaurants and the International Wine Challenge.

Entrants recognise the benefits of receiving gold, silver and bronze medals, representing the seal of approval from an independent panel of leading experts, encompassing award-winning journalists, chefs and master butchers.”

World Steak Challenge is kindly supported by reception sponsor Wagyu Japanese Beef and official supplier Beefsteak club.

Entry for World Steak Challenge closes on Friday 2 September. Competition entry details can be found online.
