BHJ went through audits by the German Islamic Centre in Aachen to make its product available to meat processors sourcing halal ingredients for beef products.
The company’s sales and marketing director, Richard Parnell, said: “With around 2.5 million Muslims in the UK and 1.6 billion halal consumers globally, this is a growing consumer market and certification is essential for gaining access.
“With increasing demand, it has never been a better time for us to ensure our ingredients are accessible to this market.”
