Kemin said its organic ingredient shows it is in-touch with consumer demand

Ingredients manufacturer Kemin has launched an organic, vinegar-based ingredient to prolong the shelf-life of various meat products.

The business claims its new ingredient can extend shelf-life by controlling the growth of foodborne pathogens, such as listeria , without impacting the texture or flavour of meat or poultry products.

Called the BactoCEASE, the ingredient comes in either liquid of dried form. It is also available in organic and sodium-free verities to suit the purpose of the manufacturer.

[This] is another example of how Kemin responds to our customer’s need for label-friendly ingredient solutions,” said Courtney Schwartz, senior marketing communications manager at Kemin’s Food Technologies department. “As consumers demand more clean and organic food and beverage options, Kemin solutions like our organic vinegar preparation allow manufacturers to meet these needs with an effective, recognisable ingredient.

Family-owned Kemin , which is based in Des Moines, Iowa, produces over 500 speciality ingredients for the global feed and food sector. It also operates in the health, nutrition and beauty markets. The business has nearly 2,000 staff and operates in 90 countries, with manufacturing facilitates in Brazil, China, India, South Africa and the US.
