US food firm launches new meat snacks

US-based Hormel Foods has revealed a range of new meat snacking options, catering to the demand for convenience eating.

Under the Natural Choice brand, the four new products marry meats with non-traditional ingredients. Each on-the-go pot is made up from a meat, a cheese and a chocolate-covered treat. Flavour profiles include: oven-roasted turkey and mild white cheddar cheese with dark chocolate-covered pretzels; honey ham and mild white cheddar cheese with dark chocolate-covered pretzels; oven-roasted chicken breast and mild white cheddar cheese with dark chocolate-covered almonds; and oven-roasted turkey and pepper jack cheese with dark chocolate-covered blueberries.

The Hormel Natural Choice brand has been bringing consumers 100% natural deli meat options that are great-tasting and nutritious for more than 10 years,” said Andrew Quinn, brand manager at Hormel Foods . “We are proud to say our 100% natural deli meat is now available in a convenient, portion-controlled option, and coupled with a sweet treat – attributes our wellness-seeking consumers have been long craving.”

Each two-ounce pack contains nine to 10 grams of protein. They are available in stores nationwide for $1.50-$2.

The new products will complement Hormel’s Natural Choice portfolio, which is made up of 100% natural deli meats and bacon, produced without the use of artificial preservatives or ingredients.
