Meat ingredients company posts strong half year results

Denmark-based ingredients firm Chr. Hansen has posted organic growth of 11% in the first half of the financial year 2011/12, with a revenue of €333m, up 9% year-on-year.

“All our divisions contributed positively and especially the Cultures & Enzymes Division has proved our resilient business model with strong growth despite the continued uncertainty around probiotic health claims in EU,” said CEO Lars Frederiksen.

Revenue for the second quarter of 2011/12 was €165m, up 7% compared to Q2 last year.

Based on these results, the company has changed its organic growth expectations from 7% to 10% to 8% to 10% for the year, and is launching a share buy-back programme of up to €80m is order to adjust its capital structure.
