Dutch veterinary authorities have culled 44,500 turkeys after low pathogenic avian influenza (LPAI) was detected on 200 birds last week.
An official report was sent to the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) yesterday, adding that control measures had been taken on top of the cull, including screenings of all poultry farms in a 3km radius around the affected farm.
Weekly follow-up reports are to be submitted to the OIE as long as the situation is unresolved.
