International delegates flocked to the UK this week to see the best the country’s beef sector has to offer.

In a trip, organised by the English beef and lamb levy board, Eblex, representatives from Armenia, Bosnia, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Georgia, Latvia, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia and Spain attending Beef Expo, held at the Three Counties Showground, Malvern.
The delegation of breeders, officials and journalists were given the chance to see a showcase of the UK’s highest quality cattle, Eblex said.
Jean-Pierre Garnier, Eblex export manager, said: “Beef Expo is a major event in the industry calendar. Coupled with renewed optimism in the sector, it was the perfect platform to showcase to an international audience what the UK has to offer in terms of genetics and high quality beef.
“British cattle are very well suited to low input, grass-based systems which are environmentally sustainable and can be adapted to many countries and situations. In that respect, we certainly have much to offer in terms of beef cattle performance and productivity.”
