The American Feed Industry Association (AFIA) will host a half-day Pork Tech Theatre seminar at the International Production & Processing Expo (IPPE) in Atlanta, Georgia on 28 January.

Topics up for discussion include porcine epidemic diarrhoea virus and recent advancements and issues affecting worldwide pork production.

AFIA director of ingredients, pet food and state affairs Leah Wilkinson said: "Two of the topics that have been receiving much attention and will be discussed by speakers at the seminar are automatic feeding within group housing and what the future looks like regarding the use of antibiotics in pigs for human consumption."

The session will be moderated by feed ingredients company AB Vista’s technical swine manager for the Americas Dr Casey Bradley, who will introduce speakers such as Dr Paul Sundberg vice-president of science and technology at US association the National Pork Board.

The IPPE is a collaboration of the International Poultry Expo, International Feed Expo and International Meat Expo, representing the entire chain of protein production and processing.

The expo runs from 27-29 January at the Georgia World Congress Centre, US.
