The need for sanitation in meat plants leads to the creation of a hot, steamy environment which can cause health and safety issues. One company, Ecolab, were in Atlanta offering processors a new solution to tackle that very issue. The company claims its Advantis FC cleaning solution is able to provide the same cleaning performance as other products, but using water at lower temperatures. Marketing director Yalcin Oksal said: “Normally, processors will clean using water at 160F, however, Advantis FC allows cleaning to the same standard, but with temperatures of between 105F and 120F.” He said the benefits meant improved visibility within the plant, less condensation and lower energy costs. Also the product allows for quicker clean times which leads to less downtime on the line.
