Covering all aspects of food production, from machinery and packaging materials to ingredients or services, Anuga FoodTec looks set to attract around 43,000 visitors this year, when it opens its doors later this month.

Held from 24-27 March at Kölnmesse in Cologne, Germany, this year’s exhibition will focus on "resource efficiency" as its key theme, with a supporting programme to explore the issue on many different levels.

The halls will be split into three core sections: process technology and ingredients, packaging and food safety and quality management.

There will also be ‘special shows’ within those halls, including: FutureLab, Robotik-Pack-Line, Live Lab, Speakers’ Corner and Meeting Point Food Ingredients.

The last show, in 2012, housed 1,289 exhibitors and, this year, that number looks set to reach almost 1,500. Exhibitors will be present from around 40 countries, including Bizerba, Multivac, GEA, Tipper Tie, Mettler Toledo, Vemag and Treif.

This year the area dedicated to suppliers of the meat industry will be even larger, due to growing interest in the show. Exhibitors in this sector will now occupy the larger Hall 6, compared to Hall 9 in 2012.
