MPC and Drovers Pastoral Company deal close to completion
The meat processing business operated by MPC and Drovers employs approximately 71 people and currently has annual revenue of approximately $20 million. Avior Consulting was appointed liquidator in May and has continued to trade the business while looking for a buyer.
MPC sells meat and poultry products to local IGA supermarkets, butcher shops, food service and fast food industry while Drovers sells meat and poultry products at wholesale prices directly to the public.
Flown, is intending to launch a new brand through this acquisition and will be retaining the majority of employees in the deal.
“This is a very good outcome for both MPC and Drovers as Flown intends to carry on the business which will result in the re-employment of a significant portion of current employees,” said Avior Consulting managing director, Dermott McVeigh.
“The Avior Consulting team will be working very closely with the new owners to ensure a smooth transition for customers, suppliers and employees.”
“Flown will continue to employ locals and support WA local producers just as MPC and Drovers did,” said Forrest and King.
“We also look forward to enhancing the product range and services to our customers.”
The sale is expected to be completed on 31 July 2015.
