TraQtion, a cloud-based quality and compliance software from public health and food safety organisation NFS International, has been enhanced, allowing it to automatically alert users to supply chain risks.

The improvements to TraQtion are designed to help businesses get an in-depth view of their global supply chain, with the ability to pinpoint at-risk producers and products.

The software enhancements come in conjunction to the company adopting a new name for the software – TraQtion (pronounced ‘traction’). Hitherto, the software used to be known as Aspirago, but NSF felt the name failed to communicate its ethos of helping clients move forward, with quality as a key driver.

Upgrades to the TraQtion program include a proprietary intelligent compliance engine that scans and evaluates data for potential risks in the supply chain. An alert system can also be installed to notify retailers and manufacturers of any issues that arise, enabling them to quickly take actionable steps to address the problems that could impact food safety.

“Today’s food safety and quality professionals deal with numerous data points originating from multiple sources to identify if a supplier or product is safe to use,” said Sireesha Mandava, senior director of information management services at NSF.

“TraQtion allows a business to build a solution that works seamlessly with current processes and procedures by integrating with other internal and external systems for smooth information flow. Each solution has a wide range of modules, allowing businesses to choose the depth and breadth of quality and compliance needed for their brand,” Mandava added.

NFS has confirmed it will continue to support technology innovation across its portfolio of companies. Over the next three years it will invest $6.5m (€5.95m) to deliver smart end-to-end data and compliance solutions.
