Modular plastic conveyor belts manufacturer ScanBelt plans to unveil its latest product at the meat processing machinery trade show IFFA.

ScanBelt has confirmed it will unveil its new FlexiTop conveyor belt for the meat industry at IFFA, which runs from 9-12 May 2016.

The FlexiTop is designed to reduce life-cycle costs for meat producers. It also has an improved cut-and-impact resistance which means it is able to handle heavy loads, while the surface of the belt avoids blunting meat knives.

This conveyor belt has a two-component design that provides a solid base module with a high pulling force,” explained Carl Erik Taxbro, vice-president of sales and export at ScanBelt.

At the same time, the top of the belt has excellent cut resistance and impact resistance. This has resulted in a high durability of the product and a reduction in the life-cycle costs.”

Food risks managed

ScanBelt claims to be one of the world’s leading manufactures in the niche industry of modular plastic conveyor belts. The Danish business has a range of over 50 different types of machinery belts on the market right now.

Taxbro said the new belt had also been designed to be taken apart to ensure the equipment was easy to clean and help users manage food safety risks.

This conveyor belt is developed in cooperation with our existing customers ensuring that the product meets the requirements on the market,” said Taxbro,

This has resulted in a design with conical links for easier cleaning around the rod [and] hinge area, which is an essential function in the food industry, where the demands for products with a high level of hygiene are strict.”

Foodex presence

ScanBelt is one of Danish 13 companies that will be present at IFFA under the Pavilion of Denmark in Hall 9.1. The company is also one of 45 businesses represented by the Danish Food Tech Group, a body of companies that supply products and consultancy services to the meat industry.

The Danish Food Tech Group will also be present at the UK trade fair Foodex, where GlobalMeatNews is one of several William Reed media partners.
