European poultry processor Moy Park has seen a rise in revenue across mainland Europe, according to second-quarter trading figures up to 2 July.

The business enjoyed a steady second quarter of growth and posted a 3.1% rise in revenue for its European meat lines, rising to €113.1m (£97.8m). This, Moy Park said, has been driven by a good mix of product sales where volume was in line with company estimations through the second quarter.

Janet McCollum, chief executive of Moy Park, hailed the results as “positive”, adding that the progress was “built on a platform of strong customer relationships, innovation, improved efficiency and cost control”. McCollum also referenced Moy Park’s win at the Meat & Poultry Processing Awards 2016, organised by our sister site Meat Trades Journal.

Moy Park declined to comment further on the rise in European reveneues.

Steady surge

Moy Park claims to be one of the Continent’s leading agri-food businesses with operations across Ireland, the UK, France, and the Netherlands.

Total revenue for the second quarter of 2016 came to €421.8m (£364.7m), up by 1.2% when compared with the second quarter of 2015.
