Tyson Foods vice president elected chairman of US poultry council

Marc Killebrew, vice president of international sales at Tyson Foods has been elected chairman of the USA Poultry & Egg Export Council (USAPEEC), succeeding former incumbent Steve Monroe. 

He will head up the 30-strong USAPEEC boardroom, which sets policy and direction for the organisation’s sole effort to promote and increase efforts of poultry and egg products.

Killebrew told GlobalMeatNews​ that it was “a great honour​” to be elected USAPEEC chairman at a recent conference in Cancun, Mexico.

I look forward to working with our great staff at USAPEEC over the next 12 months to help guide all USA poultry as the number one choice of protein around our globe. Tyson Foods is committed to raising the world’s expectations of how much good food can do and what better way than for me to assist in this endeavor.​”

In total, seven other figures from the egg and poultry supply chain were nominated to the USAPEEC executive committee.

A further seven people were also elected to the board of directors for the first time, the seven new USAPEEC boad members are: Ashley Bahceci, Hakan Foods; Kenny Raney, Simmons Prepared Foods; Paul Sauder, Sauder Farms; Jen Ehresmann, Jennie-O Turkey Store; Jeff Jorgenson, Iowa Soybean Association; Jim Bauman, National Corn Growers Association; Keith Truckor, Ohio Corn Marketing Council; and Bob Metz of the United Soybean Board.
