Over 180 new products from the meat sector will be on display at the world’s largest trade food show.
Among the new products being launched at Anuga 2017 is French firm Maître Coq’s Chicken Donuts with Cheese and Bacon. The brand’s chicken donut innovation made its first appearance at the show in 2015 so Maître Coq has expanded its range to include a cheese and bacon variant, targeted at a younger audience.
Snacking is big business at this year’s Anuga and UK-based Meatsnacks Group will be showcasing its Men’s Health Fuel Beef Jerky and Wild West Deli Beef Jerky. Polish firm Henryk Kania is also getting in on the snacks growth with its range of protein bars. Available in beef, pork and poultry, the Active range is aimed at “people who value an active lifestyle”, according to the company. On the Spanish side, Cárnicas Serrano will be showing off its U-Snack range which comes in Serrano ham, salchichon and chorizo variants.
While pulled meats was the big thing two years ago, this year’s show will see pressed meats on display. UK-based premium sous-vide and prepared meals supplier Little & Cull will be showcasing its Pressed Lamb Shoulder ready meal.
Street food will also make an appearance at Anuga 2017, thanks to Irish family-run business RibWorld and its Thai Finger Food Ribs, inspired by street food trends.
Taking place in Cologne on 7-11 October at Koelnmesse, there will be more than 900 exhibitors in the meat hall alone. The show in 2015 saw 158,603 trade visitors from 192 different countries, and with more exhibitors booked for the 2017, visitor numbers are expected to be the highest ever.
