You can now watch a live stream of a juicy doner kebab spinning on a spit, courtesy of King of Donair from Nova Scotia, Canada.

The live feed has becoming a viral internet hit, attracting thousands of viewers from places as far afield as Australia, Germany, Romania and Russia.

Norman Nahas, King of Donair’s owner, said the web cam was set up by Nova Scotia Webcams, a website with 70 web cams streaming footage from various points of interest in the city.

The ‘Donair’, created by King of Donair and adapted from the Greek Gyro, is considered the official food of Halifax and Nahas was easily sold on the plan to set up a live feed inside the company’s flagship store.

“We’re into fun, different styles of marketing,” noted Nahas, who said the positive feedback the company had received since setting up a livestream was “insane” and “crazy”.

“Lots of people are coming into the store who want to see the kebab in real life, in action. We’ve had national news in; we were picked up by Vice and Buzzfeed,” he said.

“We’re loving it at the moment and plan to have more fun with it moving forwards. We’re going to do some fun giveaways. We’re approaching some late night television shows to see if they’re interested in it and to see if there’s some traction in that. But it’s all about celebrating the donair and our city.”

Nahas said he had enjoyed the publicity his kebab had attracted and did not plan to take down the live stream.
