The nearly 7,000 square metre young animal nutrition facility will feature a cutting-edge technology and systems of operational excellence to produce Neopigg, its sustainable world-class piglet feed.
The new production line uses an advanced, traceable barcode management system during production, which ensures the sustainability and quality of the products delivered to customers, from raw material to finished product. The piglet feed production line is expected to create 20 new jobs at the Tianjin facility.
A ‘critical time’ for nutrition
“Early life nutrition impacts an animal’s livability, health and lifetime growth efficiency,” said John Fering, managing director for Cargill Premix and Nutrition business in China. “This investment equips our customers with the right nutrition for this critical time in their young animals’ development.
“We are committed to providing best-in-class products with consistent quality. This new facility allows us to deliver on that promise by producing Neopigg at a facility that follows HACCP and FSSC22000.”
Cargill’s animal nutrition business currently has more than 20,000 employees at more than 275 facilities in 40 countries. In China, the business has more than 600 employees working at its Shanghai office and four high-tech plants located in Nanjing, Tianjin, Nanning and Ganyu.
