Investigation launched into Irish meat factory death

The Irish Health and Safety Authority (HSA) and the Garda Síochána are separately investigating the death of a worker at a meat processing facility.

A man, reported to be in his 20s, was killed at Kildare Chilling Company, a beef and lamb processor based in Co Kildare, Ireland.

According to reports in local newspaper the Leinster Leader​, the man was believed to be a Moldovan who had recently moved to the country. The Leinster Leader​ also reported that the man had come into contact with a fully loaded forklift and was pronounced dead at the scene.

A spokesperson for the HSA said: “We’ve launched an investigation, but we have no details to give out as of yet.”
