Impossible Foods has revealed it has launched its plant-based meat lines at three restaurants in Macau’s Galaxy entertainment resort.

With the move, Macau has become Impossible Foods’ second Asian destination after launching its products outside the US for the first time in Hong Kong from April this year.

The firm’s plant-based meats will become available in Macau’s The Noodle Kitchen, The Apron Oyster Bar & Grill and Cha Bei.

Cha Bei will use Impossible meat in three of its all-day meal options, including Tex-Mex Tacos, 853 Burger and its Thai Lettuce Wraps. The Apron Oyster Bar & Grill will showcase two meals of the plant-based meat in its Chipotle Croquette and Vegetable Mille-feuille.

The Noodle Kitchen will incorporate Impossible meat into three traditional Chinese dishes: Seared Buns, Chive Dumplings and Tossed Noodles with Spiced Eggplants.

Impossible meat is now available in over 30 restaurants in Hong Kong, including Jinjuu, Urban Bakery, Plat Du Jour, Alto, and five-star hotels Hotel ICON and Grand Hyatt Hong Kong.

We’re humbled to launch in Asia’s premier tourist destination at one of the world’s most spectacular resorts,” said Impossible Foods’ senior vice-president for international Nick Halla. “Macau is a global crossroads of ideas and influences, and we are confident that chefs and consumers in Macau’s dynamic restaurant scene will fully embrace plant-based meat.”

Impossible Foods, based in California, USA, produces plant-based meats using just water, wheat protein, potato protein and coconut, as well as heme, which gives the product its “meaty” taste, according to the firm.

The business revealed to GlobalMeatNews that it is also set to launch its products into Singapore in the near future.
