As part of its mission for “cutting edge traceability”, Valley Oaks turned to Dynamic Systems for advice on traceability to sustain its beef standards.
Dynamic Systems recommended its software Simba to Valley Oaks, which offers production reporting, shipping, barcoding and traceability of its products.
Using Simba, Valley Oaks can verify and track the processing date, comply with the US Department of Agriculture grade and maintain steak shipments. The system can also print tags and labels at the companies feedlot to provide tracking information for its carcasses.
“Dynamic Systems, as a company, is more than just traceability and printing reports, its customer service is absolutely fantastic. Anytime we need anything, they always have an answer,” said Valley Oaks Steak Co spokeswoman Devon Lynn.
“We could not do this manually, pen and paper is out of the question. I couldn’t imagine doing this without the Simba system.”
Meanwhile, Dynamic Systems’ president Alison Falco said: “With our software, our customers typically don’t have to change their process. It’s so flexible that we can take their pen and paper tally sheets or spreadsheets and automate it without changing a thing.”
Valley Oaks processes around 100 head a week from 3,500 herd of cattle to fill local stores and online orders.
