Diviande launches frozen steak range

Dutch meat producer Diviande has launched a range of oven-ready frozen steaks.

Part of its ‘Easy Cooking’ line, the range is available to foodservice and retail, and means it is now possible to prepare steaks straight from the freezer in the oven, air fryer or microwave. Diviande said that, with this new range, there was no need for defrosting; by following the indicated temperature and cooking times, every steak would come out of the oven perfectly, whether it was medium rare, medium or well done.

The Easy Cooking product range holds 10 foodservice items and 12 retail skus. The foodservice range also offers the option to create tailor-made products.

The company said: “Innovation is a top priority for Diviande, and we respond to trends. It is getting harder and harder for restaurants to find good chefs and have good profit margins. The pressure in kitchens is high. Diviande meets this trend by merging quality with convenience. It is a major time-saver not to have to defrost steaks first. The risk of wasting food is less and it is cost-efficient.”

The World Steak Challenge, run by GlobalMeatNews, is still accepting entries for its 2019 competition. There are prizes to be won in the rib-eye, sirloin and fillet categories, with one being crowned the World’s Best Steak.
