Reporting to president and CEO Noel White, he will assume the role immediately and replaces Justin Whitmore, who will now head up Tyson Foods’ alternative protein business.
Tyson’s role includes driving improvement by implementing the company’s sustainability strategy and commitments as well as managing the sustainability, animal welfare, environmental and social responsibility teams.
The business worked with the World Resources Institute to set a science-based target to reduce greenhouse gas emissions 30% by 2030 and has partnered with the Environmental Defense Fund on increasing sustainable farming practices on more than two million acres of corn by 2020.
In addition, Tyson Foods employs the largest team of animal welfare specialists in the industry and launched Upward Academy, an educational program provides on-site life skill training classes for frontline workers.
