The first shipment of pork from Argentine processor Tutto Porky has been made to China.

Accompanied by officials from the province of Santa Fe, the Tutto Porky's refrigerator partner, which has 30 years of experience in the market, made its first shipment of pork to China.

Tutto Porky's provincial director of livestock and avian production Rubén Alcaraz highlighted the importance of exports to the business. “These things [export deals] must be replicated throughout the province since we are generating added value at source. Today with China we open an export window that we had not intended, both for pork and beef.”

Mayor of Reconquista Amadeo Enrique Vallejos praised the work of the family that owns the refrigerator. “It is a pride that a Reconquista company, in this case the Tutto Porky's refrigerator, can have this first export to China, and this means creating genuine work sources, working side by side with the municipality. It is very important for any city to have quality work. I want to congratulate Guillermo González Davis and his family for this export and this new market that generates an immense expectation due to the demand that the country has towards the production of swine meat.”

Guillermo González Davis explained the scope of exports being made by the business over the past fortnight. “We made the first shipment to China, and two weeks ago we made a shipment to Africa, and the first export with inspections went to Russia."

In September 2019, China approved 15 beef and poultry plants from Argentina for export while the first shipment of pork from Argentina was made in November and included 26 tonnes of product.
