JBS’ Friboi brand and the Association of Nelore Breeders of Brazil (ANCB) have extended their promotional partnership to continue throughout 2020.

This year, the Nelore Circuit will go from 23 to 40 stages, with 37 based at Friboi's production units located in ten Brazilian states: Acre, Bahia, Goiás, Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, Minas Gerais, Pará, Rondônia, São Paulo and Tocantins.

The expectation is that, by the end of the year, more than 25 thousand livestock animals from all over Brazil will be evaluated over the entire calendar, which represents a 25% growth compared to last year.

“We are very happy to renew the partnership with ACNB in 2020 and to promote the Nellore breed, responsible for 80% of the Brazilian beef herd, in more places in the country. The results obtained last year were above our expectations and we are confident that we will have an even more positive circuit with the association and the ranchers who have been helping us to raise the level of Brazilian cattle to an ever higher level,” said Friboi president Renato Costa.

“The growth of the Nellore Quality Circuit is very gratifying, especially in the last two years. We jumped from 8,000 to 25,000 animals evaluated,” added president of the ACNB Nabih Amin El Aouar. “This evolution represents for ACNB the recognition of the hard and consistent work to improve Nellore genetics, in addition to our conviction to encourage ranchers to produce better quality animals with greater standardization of carcasses.”

Changes to grading

This year, the composition of the final score, for example, the maturity of the animals is weighted at 30%, against 25% last year. Thus, the final grade will consist of 35% weight, 35% fat finish and 30% maturity.
