Portion control was front and centre on the Bizerba stand in Atlanta, with the compay showcasing its latest portion control system. The company’s Ralf Clement said the company had taken a visual approach to the system, providing a colour coding set up with lights flashing green when the weight has hit the right specification. Clement said that in tests with customers in Spain the system had allowed the company to speed up throughput by 23%. He said the set up, which would be ideal for portion controlled products such as chicken breasts, or diced meats, also allowed managers to closely monitor individual users performance.
