US cooked meats manufacturer Deli Star Corporation will open a research lab-cum-kitchen in Missouri, where the company can develop new products, with customers able to explore research ideas while also enjoying a slice of ham.

The Illinois manufacturer of cooked meats said its innovation centre, located in downtown St Louis, will open its doors on Friday 26 February. It is the first investment in the state of Missouri that Deli Star Corporation has made in its 28-year history.

According to the company, the research hub houses a state-of-the-art, restaurant-style kitchen for research and development. The hope here is that customers can work side-by-side with Deli Star’s team of chefs to drive collaboration in developing new protein solutions that are tried, tested and tasted by consumers.

Commitment to development

Our new second home provides a custom location to help our customers grow, while giving us an arena to showcase our products, speed R&D and boost our AMVAC fresh meat division,” said Justin Siegel, president of Deli Star Corporation.

The centre’s close proximity to Lambert-St Louis International Airport and the St Louis metro area’s business zone makes it an ideal and enticing place for us to welcome our existing partners and potential new partners.

We are committed to bringing products to our customers and to the market quicker than any of our competitors, and this Innovation Center, centrally located in the US, will allow us to best do so. The centre will provide an even greater commitment to our research and development, one of Deli Star’s core values, which help us to align our purpose and vision.”
