Polish authorities have reportedly found traces of horse DNA in three meat storage facilities.

According to a report from Reuters, the country’s General Veterinary Inspectorate announced last night that three out of 121 samples taken from meat businesses in the country had tested positive for horsemeat. A further 80 samples are due to be tested.

Polish authorities have until now denied allegations by Irish, British and German authorities that raw material imported from Poland was the source of the horsemeat contamination found in burgers and ready meals. Previous tests at Polish abattoirs found no traces of horsemeat.
