The MDA issued a consumer advisory after the state investigated a product called whole-muscle turkey jerky, which has been linked to four cases of illnesses caused by Salmonella bacteria.
According to the MDA, the jerky was supplied by the Hoffman Town and Country Meat Market. The meat market issued a recall of the product sold on or before 21 August 2012 and wrapped in white butcher’s paper. Consumers were also warned not to eat any remaining products and to return them for a full refund.
